Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - Officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), starting from today, will organize meetings in more kindergartens from Chisinau to speak about illicit collections of money.
According to CNA, it is about meetings with parents, parents’ associations and committees, teaching staff and representatives of education territorial inspectorates.
The goal of these meetings is to discuss the issue of illicit collections of money in pre-school institutions and identify legal solutions to stop them.
The initiative comes from the Chisinau municipal council’s education, youth and sport general department, which asked CNA for support for the promotion of an integrity climate at subordinated institutions and settling the problem of informal payments in the education system.
Thus, till late January, CNA officers will attend meetings held at kindergartens where most complains received from parents were discovered.
CNA has earlier unmasked more cases of corruption in the education sector. About 110 notifications concerning corruption acts in education institutions were submitted to CNA in the first nine months of 2018 in all, which would mean that 12 citizens monthly denounce new cases of corruption in the education field. CNA’s data shows that, in the first nine months of the last year, more than 60 teachers got in the focus of anti-corruption officers. At the same time, according to an opinion poll, the sum of illegal payments from education institutions would have doubled.
