Five members of Filip cabinet of Moldova suspended from office

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - Five members of the government led by Pavel Filip have been suspended from office, in the context of their participation in the parliamentary elections due on 24 February 2019 as candidates for MP.
According to the government’s secretary general, Roman Cazan, those five members concerned are Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic, Education, Culture and Research Minister Monica Babuc, Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Silvia Radu, Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan, Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Nicolae Ciubuc. In their absence, their duties are exercised by the state secretary generals.
Under the Electoral Code, the deputy prime ministers and ministers suspend their activity in the office held starting from their registration as electoral contenders.
Also today, the cabinet ruled to dismiss Mihail Grumeza from the position of deputy director general of the national anti-doping agency, based on the application on resignation.
