Political repressions' victims of Moldova to receive damage compensations worth over 387,000 lei

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, ruled to allocate financial means necessary for the payment of compensations to victims of political repressions. More than 387,000 lei will be distributed to four beneficiaries in all, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

Thus, about 161,000 lei will be allocated for people from the northern Rascani district and more than 225,000 lei – for those from the Rezina district.

The government annually pays compensations from the state budget for the value of the confiscated, nationalized wealth, or taken out of the possession of the rehabilitated victims of the political repressions. The payment of the compensation can be rescheduled for a period of up to three tears, if the value of the dispossessed assets is less than 200,000 lei and for a period of up to five years, if the assets’ value exceeds this sum.  

Financial means worth about seven million lei was provided for in the state budget for 2019 for the rehabilitation of political repressions’ victims.    

Last year, the government approved a package of priority medical and social services and of increasing the state monthly allocation for people who suffered in the wake of political repressions.
