Contest announced for symbols of youth programme 2019 in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ – The authorities of Costesti village, Ialoveni district, announced a contest for elaboration of the hymn, slogan and logo of Programme: Costesti – Capitala Tineretului 2019 (Costesti – The capital of youth 2019). The files can be filed on 18 January – 10 February.

According to organisers, any creative young man from Moldova, aged between 14 and 35, can participate in the contest for the elaboration of the anthem, slogan and logo. The contest aim is to stimulate the participation of young people in the actions dedicated to Programme: Costesti – The capital of youth 2019 by promoting the creative potential of young people.

Following a national selection, this year the Youth Capital was designated village Costesti, because "it is the locality that has extensive experience in implementing projects at local level, including in partnership with youth organisations". The locality will benefit from a financial support from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC) worth up to 1 million lei, depending on the quality and relevance of the envisaged youth activities.

The Youth Capital Programme was launched by MECC, which is an initiative taken from the experience of the European Youth Forum and involves the selection of a Moldovan locality where there are concentrated youth activities in the course of a year local authorities, regional and national NGOs, international organisations as well as central public authorities The mission of the programme is to create opportunities for multilateral development of young persons in order to actively participate in the economic, social and cultural life of Moldova.

In recent years, the status of The capital of youth was owned by Ialoveni (2016), Varnita (2017), Cahul (2018).
