Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ – Eight of the 10 apartments severely affected by the explosion in Riscani dstrict block in Chisinau were put into operation. The acting mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, handed today the keys to the rehabilitated homes to the owners.
Codreanu personally inspected all the apartments in operation. "I am pleased with the work done. The residents already bring furniture. The apartments in the white version were ready on 05 December, but we decided to make repairs to make people live in comfortable conditions," said Codreanu.
Similarly, the construction management of the company, which carried out the rehabilitation works, specified that the interventions were carried out in two stages. "During the first stage, it was carried out the consolidation of the block, and then there followed finishing works. Initially, the experts scheduled that it would be required six months to complete the interventions, but we managed to do it in nearly three months. The best employees of the company worked because the works were very complicated and dangerous. We can say with certainty that the block is resistant and the work done is of good quality," said the director of construction company.
According to local authorities, the consolidation works of the block cost MDL 9.7 million, and the reparations in the severely affected apartments cost about one million lei. Also, the elevator cost about MDL 1.5 million.
Totally, five persons died as a result of the explosion on 06 October 2018, in a 21 – floor block in Riscani sector of Chisinau. For rehabilitation of the block, the Chisinau City Hall allocated MDL 10 million.
