Six women photo reporters exhibit works within project in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ – It was varnished a photographic exhibition, made by six photo reporters, exclusively women, organised by the Association of Reporters: Oameni si Kilometri (The people and kilometers) within a project, at the Municipal Library B.P. Hasdeu today.
The exhibition includes 60 works, which brought to the attention of society as well as of the authorities, issues and themes such as the relocation of the villages following the floods, the way of the milk from the producer to the consumer, daily life and the challenges of persons with disabilities, communities of Moldovans and their jobs in Portugal.
Interviewed by agency, project coordinator, Victoria Borta, mentioned that there were selected six participants within a training and scholarship programme meant to support documentary photography and photojournalism among women in Moldova. "Previously, we had organised several exhibitions and I noticed that there are more men among the participants. The photographic projects have been documented for four months, being conducted under the guidance of two famous photographers in Romania – Ioana Moldovan and Ioana Harlig. The total value of the scholarships was $4,500. It is presented a part of the works in this exhibition, the full versions being published on platform www.oamenisikilometri.md," said Victoria Borta.
Journalist Tatiana Mitrofan from Soroca said she learnt about this project on social networks. "I participated in the two stages of the competition and got a scholarship. I documented a blind librarian from the mobile library for the blind in Soroca city. This is Stela Voinitschi, a person which lost sight in adolescence, and has taken it over and mastered the Braille alphabet. She is very well informed, active and participates in all cultural actions of the city. She is passionate about theatre, flowers, and writes lyrics. She is an integrity citizen and an example to follow," specified Tatiana Mitrofan.
Photo reporter Nadejda Roscovan said that this documentary gave her the opportunity to know deeper what a person with disabilities is, what his needs are. "Aliona Stoian is a 29 – year – old woman and suffers from a severe illness – type 2 spino cerebellar ataxia. It is a disease of imbalance. It can not move without support. In order to be able to benefit from a personal assistant, I have taken several steps to change her degree of disability. In September, the degree of disability was changed and now she is waiting for personal assistance," said Nadejda Roscovan.
The exhibition is open until 31 January.
