"Year 2018 was important to us, both in terms of the results we achieved and challenges we faced. We carried out a series of activities for the regional development policy from the point of view of its revision. Even though we had some challenges on it, including on preparation of documentation for projects funded by EU Delegation, I think we did well. I hope that the stage that comes – implementation stage – is going throughout efficiently and much better, especially because we have some clear terms for each action," said State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM), Dorin Andros.
At her turn, Christina Otto, project manager of MSPL, said that for the project it was a very full and effective year. "We have successfully completed the Rosu project in Cahul district. Some cofunding for MSPL has also been completed – the contribution of the Governments of Romania and Sweden. Also, we have succeeded in signing a new agreement with the Swiss Government that will provide the financial support needed to complete the Cahul – Lebedenco water supply and sewerage project. And it is also very important that at the end of 2018 we signed a financing agreement with EU that aim to empower and involve citizens. We also had challenges, surely, especially as regards of some delays in the process of drawing up the documentation of EU – funded projects, but we have made efforts to overcome them," specified Christina Otto.
The meeting ended with brief briefings on EU support and involvement of citizens, new organisational structure of the project team of MSPL, as well as procedure for approval of the Project Operational Plan of MSPL for 2019.
