Over 200 Moldovan agricultural producers receive state subsidies in 2019

Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/ – Since the beginning of 2019, 216 agricultural producers that made investments in the agri-industrial and rural development sectors have benefited from subsidies and the total amount authorised for payment is MDL 12.6 million.  

The Agency for Intervention and Payment for Agriculture (AIPA) has resumed the process of authorising applications for financial support from 2018, which was not covered by financial means due to the exhaustion of the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development for 2018.

Also, on 22 – 25 January, the AIPA will carry out an info campaign on the award of grants for 2019. The staff of the institution will reach 13 districts of Moldova and inform the farmers about the possibilities of accessing subsidies, procedures for receiving the applications, errors detected in the file management process. Similarly, the potential grant beneficiaries will be alerted to compliance with the eligibility criteria for obtaining financial support.

The size of the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas for 2019 will amount up to MDL 900 million. The amount is equivalent to the one allocated in 2018.

In 2018, AIPA received a record number of over 7,400 financial support applications for 4,411 single farmers, totalling over MDL 1 billion.
