Two schools from north-western Moldova district receive new computers

Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/ - Pupils from two schools of the north-western Falesti district have received 18 new computers, delivered to beneficiaries today. The new devices were brought to the gymnasiums Eugen Coseriu from the Catranac village and Diomid Gherman of the Risipeni village.
According to the Education Ministry, the value of each set is of 834 dollars. The computer technology is provided by the Jeju province of South Korea, under a memorandum on cooperation. The agreement provides for the donation, in three annual installments, of by 450 computers for the endowment of general education institutions from Moldova.
At the event, the state secretary at the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, Angela Cutasevici, said that the number of computers of education institutions from Moldova had been completed with more than 500 last generation computers in 2018. “We are set to continue this fact this year too, as the formation of digital competences of pupils and teaching staff, developing capacities of using Information Technology and Communication resources, as well as the improvement of the process of teaching and learning cannot be carried out efficiently without the use of advanced electronic instruments,” Cutasevici stressed.
In 2019, 15 general education institutions from the districts of Anenii Noi, Cahul, Cimislia, Falesti, Hancesti, Taraclia, Sangerei, Straseni, Ungheni, Chisinau city and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia will be endowed with 150 computers, based on the same memorandum between Moldova and South Korea.
As many as 218 pupils study at the Eugen Coseriu gymnasium from Catranac and 179 – at the Diomid Gherman gymnasium from Risipeni.
