Files of 26 singers of Moldova accepted for live hearings of national selection for Eurovision Song Contest

Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/ - Twenty six participants will sing at live hearings of the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, due on 2 February. The members of the committee for the organization of the national show today checked the files submitted by the potential participants. Thus, 26 out of 28 singers, who expressed intention to compete for a ticket to Tel Aviv, have been allowed to the stage of live hearings.
According to the organizers, one participant presented an incomplete file and another one was excluded from the contest, as the text of the song runs counter the regulation of the contest. Among the competitors who registered for the selection, there are Iurie Sadovnic and Legenda band, Aurel Chirtoaca, Maxim Zavidia, Ala Zasmenco, Anna Odobescu, Tina Gi, Diana Brescanu, etc.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, a producer at the National Television of Moldova, Teodor Gutu, said that the live hearings of the songs registered in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest would be held in the studio 2 of the Moldova 1 TV station on 2 February at 12:00. At the hearings, a jury made up of professionals will assess the vocal performance of the competitors. The live hearings will be broadcast online on the website www.trm.md. At this phase, the stage clothes or the show elements are not compulsory; the criteria of assessing are the melodic line, song’s originality, vocal performance, as well as the singing itself. The singers will get marks from 0 to 12.
In 2018, the band DoReDos, which represented Moldova at the international phase of the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, ranked tenth. The performance of the band was appreciated also the contest’s organizational committee, which offered to the band the prize, The buss award, for the best stage presentation.
The 64th issue of the contest will take place in Israel and will be made up of two semi-finals, held on 14 and 16 May and a final, due on 18 May 2019.
