Compensations for heating to be increased in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - More than 150,000 families with a monthly income up to 2,000 lei in 2019 will benefit from bigger assistance on the cold period of the year. The leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM), Vlad Plahotniuc, made statements to this effect at the end of the PDM weekly meeting today.

According to Plahotniuc, the compensations for the payment of heating will be doubled in 2019, from 350 lei to 700 lei. “This subject has permanently been on the agenda of the governance. Thus, for five months – November, December, January, February and March 2019, the socially vulnerable families will take doubled compensations,” Plahotniuc said.

Following the Democrats’ weekly meeting today, Vlad Plahotniuc announced more social measures, among which: the providing of a one-off assistance before the Easter to low-income pensioners; increase in the one-off child-birth allowance and providing monthly allocations to minors.
