Moldovan parliament speaker backs disabled young people

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu has answered a request by a group of young people with locomotor disabilities, who asked for help through social networks, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.    

The young people received financial assistance from the parliament speaker’s fund and presents on behalf of civil servants of the petitions and hearings department at the parliament’s Secretariat. Two out of those four young people were visited by civil servants at home and another two ones today paid an information visit to the parliament.    

The young people benefited from a guided tour, within which they familiarized with the history of the parliamentarianism, legislative process and young people’s involvement in taking decisions. They visited the museum, session hall, Europe hall of the parliament, put questions, as well as took pictures.    

About 200 people have visited the Moldovan parliament within guided information visits since early 2019. During 2018, the number of visitors reached 8,000 persons. At the same time, starting from 2014, when the programme of visits was launched, about 30,000 people have visited the parliament building.
