Schedule of tests at education institutions made public in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - The management of the Education, Culture and Research Ministry has made public the schedule of tests at education institutions.    

The state secretary general of the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, Igor Sarov, today had a working meeting with the heads of the local specialty bodies in the education sector, held by the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment. The participants in the meeting discussed the organization of national examinations and assessments, as well as the carrying out of school Olympiads in 2019.  

According to data unveiled, the tests will take place in primary schools on 20 February, on 21 February – in gymnasiums and on 22 February – in lyceums. The testing of the candidates for the graduation exams will be held on 1-12 April.  

At the same time, more than seven million lei is provided for in the state budget for this year for the organization of Olympiads and contests.

At the event, the state secretary general, Igor Sarov, said that “the ministry will further provide the correctness and transparency of the process of carrying out national assessments.”

For his part, the director of the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment, Anatol Topala, presented the criteria of selecting the persons involved in the organization and holding of national examinations and assessments, principles of giving the mark “10” ex-officio, based on the international certificates at the exam in foreign language, norms of filling in the database about the candidates for the graduation examinations and their verification.    

The participants in the meeting also discussed the main actions undertaken in the last years to back pupils who get good results at regional and international Olympiads. The most recent measure to this end was the increase by the government of the allocations meant for nourishment on the period of the contest and for purchasing office articles for participants in Olympiads and teachers involved in their training.
