Moldovan National Patrol Inspectorate employees catch four young people red-handed while consuming drugs

Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/ - Employees of the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP) have caught four young people red-handed while they were consuming drugs in a vehicle in traffic.
The INP press officer, Natalia Golovco, said that the incident had taken place at the intersection of the streets Calea Orheiului and Tudor Vladimirescu from Chisinau on 22 January evening.
“A patrol inspector who was dealing with easing the traffic noticed a Volkswagen car, in which there were more young people and one of them introduced a syringe in his hand during the vehicle’s movement. The patrol inspectors immediately demanded that the driver stops; yet, he ignored the demands and continued to move. The patrol inspectors undertook measures of forcible stop,’’ Golovco noted.
According to Golovco, there were four passengers in the automobile and there were more syringes and pills on the back chair. An operative group was called to the scene, in order to document the concerned case. The people subsequently detained were escorted to the Police Inspectorate of Chisinau’s Rascani district.
The deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate, Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, said that 77 minor accidents and eight traffic accidents, in the wake of which people were injured and one person died, had occurred because of the snowfall in the last 24 hour. The accident in which a man died took place between the villages Sagaidac and Zloti, southern Cimislia district.
