Rescuers de-block eight touring cars from snow in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/ - Rescuers in the last 24 hours de-blocked eight vehicles from snow, among which also a high-tonnage lorry which skid on a highway in the northern Edinet district.
The press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), Liliana Puscasu, has said that IGSU employees intervened also in towing vehicles in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. “Also today, firemen managed to de-block more cars who skid in Rascani, Hancesti, Calarasi and Ungheni. According to operative data, collected from electric energy suppliers, no disconnections from power supply were recorded in the wake of the snow,” Puscasu said.
Operative information shows that there are no blocked roads, national and international highways in Moldova. “IGSU will further monitor the situation in the country and will intervene for preventing risky situations. People are asked to be cautious and listen to messages by authorities and call the 112 Service in emergency situations,” Puscasu added.
The deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate, Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, said that 77 minor accidents and eight traffic accidents, in the wake of which people were injured and one person died, had occurred because of the snowfall in the last 24 hour. The accident in which a man died took place between the villages Sagaidac and Zloti, southern Cimislia district.
