Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/ - The last two flats at the 13th and 16th floors of a block of flats serious hit by an explosion in October 2018 have been made available for living.
According to the Chisinau city hall, just as in the case of the dwellings presented last week, the two apartments were repaired and people can already return home.
The extension by three days of the term provided for giving the keys to owners was caused by the individual selection of finishings for the flats. Renovations were made here through replacing the woodwork and floors, setting sanitary objects in bathrooms, rehabilitation of the heating network, plastering and painting walls, etc.
The repair works were fully financed by the city hall, with about one million lei allocated from the local budget to this end.
Besides the works in the apartments hit by the blast, lifts, staircase and common use places were repaired or replaced and works of arrangement of the area in the perimeter of the block of flats are planned to be carried out on the warm period of the year.
The city hall assumed also the repair of four dwellings at the 16th floor, nearby the zone of the explosion, through providing financial sources from the Chisinau city’s reserve fund and their distribution directly to residents.
Five persons died in the wake of an explosion which took place in a 21-storied block of flats in the Rascani district of Moldova’s capital on 6 October 2018. The Chisinau city hall initially earmarked ten million lei for the rehabilitation of the building hit. At the same time, another three million lei was allocated to buy a new lift for goods and finishing works in apartments.
