Moldovan leu to appreciate against main reference currencies

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ – The national currency (MDL) appreciates over upcoming three days against the main reference currencies, according to the official exchange rates displayed by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).

Thus, the euro (EUR) cheapens by MDL 0.05, up to MDL 19.41. The dollar (USD) reduces MDL 0.01 and fix at price of MDL 17.11.

Also, the Romanian leu (RON) cheapens with MDL 0.02. Its cost is MDL 04.07.

The BNM has set quotations for the Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) and the Russian rouble (RUB) similar to the ones of today. As such, the RUB costs MDL 0.25, and the UAH – MDL 0.61.

According to the BNM's data, in the last month of 2018, the MDL depreciated, in average values, by 0.7 per cent against the USD, up to MDL 17.22 compared to MDL 17.11 in November 2018. According to the values at the end of December 2018, the national currency has appreciated by 0.5 per cent.
