Moldovan sportsman accepted for being put up for Nobel Prize

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - The candidacy of Ion Lazarenco, a sportsman who crossed, from the first attempt, those seven straits, has been accepted for being put up for the Nobel Prize. Prime Minister Pavel Filip submitted the acts, with the registration made successfully, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
On the next period, Ion Lazarenco will be promoted on international stage through numerous activities, which will contribute to informing the society about his achievements and peaceful and unity messages promoted through swimming. Thus, the sportsman will become Moldova’s ambassador in the promotion of peace and will participate in a string of events at international organizations and Moldova’s embassies abroad.
Ion Lazarenco has been declared The Best Swimmer of Ireland, becoming also the first person in the world who crossed those seven strains from the first attempt. At the same time, although he lives in Ireland, the sportsman swims as citizen of Moldova and attracts the community’s attention to the Transnistrian conflict. His first project was Peace Swimming on Dniester on a distance of 240 km, covered in eight days, on charity purpose. Another project carried out with peace and friendship message is Dniester Unites Moldova.
The Nobel Prize laureates will be announced in next December.
