Number of ATA carnets issued in 2018 increases by 50 per cent in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ – The number of ATA carnets, which allows the temporary export of goods under a simplified procedure, increased by 50 per cent in 2018 compared to 2017 and reached the figure of 118.
The ATA Carnet is an international customs document issued by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova (CCI), which replaces the customs declaration and financial guarantee. It lets for the transit of 78 ATA member states (Temporary Admission/Admission Temporaire) in a simplified regime. The simplified cross – travel saves time and costs.
According to the chamber's experts, the value of the goods for which the ATA carnet was used constituted over MDL 14 million in 2018.
According to the CCI's information and media communication service, the beneficiaries of the ATA Carnets were economic agents, exhibitors, cultural events that exported theatrical decorations and props, exhibition samples (clothing, footwear, facilities, equipment, furniture), sports equipment and animals in Romania, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine.
