Moldovan leu maintains position against main reference currencies

Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan leu will maintain its position against the main reference currencies in early next week, according to the official exchange rates posted by the National Bank of Moldova.
Thus, the dollar on 28 January will cost 17.11 lei, just as today. The euro will be by 0.01 leu more expensive and will have a quotation of 19.42 lei.
BNM set an exchange rate of 0.61 lei for the Ukrainian hryvnia, the same as for today. The Romanian leu will stay unchanged – 4.07 lei. The Russian rouble will cost in continuation 0.25 lei.
BNM’s data shows that, in December 2018, the degree of coverage of the net demand of currency on behalf of economic agents by net supply from private persons was 73.4 per cent, against 94.7 per cent in November 2018. In these conditions, BNM intervened by net sales of 21.2 million dollars on the local inter-bank market.
