Hydrologists extend Yellow Code of unstable ice in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has extended the Yellow Code of unstable ice till 28 January.
According to hydrologists, on the concerned period, the ice will be unstable and saturated with water in the rivers and water basins from Moldova and the getting out on ice will pose increased danger.
SHS warns fishermen to be cautious and parents to supervise their children. “It is recommended that any activities be avoided on water basins and nearby them on the period of the hydrological warning,” sources of the State Hydrometeorological Service told MOLDPRES.
In this context, rescuers warn residents to taken into account the weather warnings and call the 112 emergency Service in case of risky situations.
The weather is forecast to be relatively calm on the days to come, with the maximal air temperatures varying from -2 to +6 Celsius degrees during the day and from -2 to -9 degrees at night. No intense snowfall or sleet is expected, only in some places, preponderantly in the central and southern regions. On 28-29 January, cold weather is expected at night and mild one during the day, variable cloud, with sunny intervals in places.
