Five parties to participate in electoral campaign for consultative referendum in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - Five parties will participate in the electoral campaign for the consultative referendum due on 24 February. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registered the last three participants on 25 February.
According to CEC, it is about: the Democracy Home Political Party with the option AGAINST, Professionals’ Movement Speranta-Nadejda, which is for cutting the number of MPs and against their recalling from office and The Will of the People Party with the option AGAINST.
At the same time, the Commission turned down the registration of the Our Home – Moldova Party as participant in the referendum.
In late last December, CEC registered another two formations as participants in the plebiscite. It is about the Democratic Party of Moldova with the option FOR and the Party of Communists with the option AGAINST.
The registration of parties and electoral blocs for participation in the electoral campaign for the consultative referendum ended on 24 January.
On 24 February, parliamentary polls will be held. On the same day, a consultative referendum will take place on cutting the number of lawmakers from 101 to 61 and their recalling from office, if they fail to fulfill their duties properly.
