Traffic takes place in winter conditions on Moldova's roads

Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - More than 265 roadmen and 301 special equipments last night got involved in removing snow and fighting the glazed frost. As much as 1,984.4 tons of antiskid material was spread in all, the State Administration of Roads (ASD) has informed.
According to ASD, the traffic on the national roads takes place in winter conditions. All dangerous segments are permanently monitored by roads’ managers and they intervene, if needed.
At the same time, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) said that, in the last 24 hours, rescuers and firemen had intervened in 13 situations of de-blocking and towing transport means on Moldovan roads.
The most important interventions took place in the districts of Anenii Noi, Dubasari, Causeni, Rezina, Stefan Voda, Balti and Criuleni. Thus, rescuers from Anenii Noi and Cainari carried out works of towing two mini-buses. Rescuers’ intervention was needed in the settlement Cocieri, eastern Dubasari district, where the ambulance was failing to come to a patient with fracture because of the difficult access. IGSU firemen helped the medical service, so that the latter is able to carry the patient to hospital in safety. Similar interventions took place in Causeni and Balti.
IGSU said that, to liquidate the consequences of the risk situations, more than 160 rescuers had worked in the last 24 hours, with 41 special intervention vehicles.
The weather is forecast to be relatively calm on the days to come, with the maximal air temperatures varying from -2 to +6 Celsius degrees during the day and from -2 to -9 degrees at night. No intense snowfall or sleet is expected, only in some places, preponderantly in the central and southern regions. On 28-29 January, cold weather is expected at night and mild one during the day, variable cloud, with sunny intervals in places.
