Moldovan electoral body registers electoral candidates on behalf of two political formations

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today registered electoral contenders in the national district on behalf of the Party of Regions of Moldova and Democracy Home Party.

The list of the Party of Regions of Moldova includes 43 candidates and the one of the Democracy Home Party – 37 candidates.

At the same time, the Commission registered also the electoral symbols of these parties.

CEC has earlier registered the electoral candidates on behalf of more political formations. It is about: Democratic Party of Moldova, Party of Socialists, electoral bloc ACUM Dignity and Truth Platform and Action and Solidarity Party, Party of Communists, Shor Party, Our Party, People’s Movement Antimafia, National Liberal Party and The Will of the People Political Party. At the same time, the files of four contenders are under consideration.

The parliamentary elections due on 24 February will be held according to a mixed electoral system. Thus, 50 lawmakers will be elected on party lists and 51 MPs – in uninominal districts.
