Family Year inaugurated in Moldova's capital

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - The 2019 year, declared by the head of state as Family Year, was inaugurated at an official ceremony in Chisinau today.

Attending the event was President Igor Dodon along with First Lady Galina Dodon. The official informed about the working out of a national programme for the protection and support of the integrity of families.

„Special attention will be paid to social measures, through the development of a programme on backing young families in need of dwellings. The initiative on the payment of the maternity capital is equally important, which we set to be updated through the increase of the quantum of one-off child-birth allocation,” Igor Dodon said.

At the same time, at the event, the central and local public authorities were encouraged to carry out actions dedicated to the Family Year, in order to promote the values of the family in the society.

At the ceremony, more Moldovan artists performed and prizes were awarded to more families.
