Mihai Eminescu National Theatre from Chisinau makes tour to two cities of Romania

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Mihai Eminescu National Theatre today returned from a tour made to Iasi and Bucharest on 21-27 January.  

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the theatre’s artistic director, Alexandru Cozub, said that the tour had taken place within the sixth issue of the project, The Romanian Theatre in Bucharest, Iasi and Chisinau.    

”We presented five plays in all. In Iasi, we performed the play, Sfatul Tarii (The Country Council), made according to a scenario by Mariana Onceanu-Hadarca (Chisinau) and Cristian Hadji-Culea (Iasi), The Cherry Orchard by A.P. Chekhov and The Carnival by I.L. Caragiale. On 26 January, we presented The Carnival and on 27 January – The Cherry Orchard on the stage of the Bucharest-based I.L. Caragiale National Theatre. All plays were presented with packed houses. We are expected in these cities next year as well, with other premieres,” Alexandru Cozub noted.         

The project, The Romanian Theatre in Bucharest, Iasi and Chisinau, was launched in 2014, being the most comprehensive cultural exchange between theatres from Moldova and Romania.
