Moldovan parliament speaker meets chairman of U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu has had a meeting with the chairman of the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, Paul Packer, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The American official is on a visit to Moldova, at an invitation by Andrian Candu, to participate in a programme of actions dedicated to the commemoration of the Holocaust’s victims. The events are organized by the parliament, in partnership with the Jewish Community of Moldova and the Moldovan government.
The programme will start on 29 January morning, with a rally requiem for the commemoration of the Holocaust’s victims. Afterwards, beginning with 14:00, the parliament will hold a roundtable, during which a report will be unveiled on the implementation of the action plan on Holocaust in Moldova, as well as the actions undertaken by the authorities for the Holocaust history to never be repeated. The programme will continue with the inauguration at the parliament of an exhibition for the commemoration of the Holocaust’s victims and will end with the closed premiere of a movie titled, Who will write our history, screened in Europe, the USA, Canada, within the Holocaust remembrance days.
