More air flights cancelled due to fog in Chisinau

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/- More air flights were delayed or cancelled today, due to fog on Chisinau International Airport.
According to the airport’s official website, eight flights were canceled and one was delayed, because of bad weather conditions at Chisinau airport or destination airports.
Two flights to Bucharest scheduled for 05:40 and 07:30 were canceled and a flight scheduled for 09:30 is delayed for at least one hour. Flights to Geneva, Istanbul and St.Petersburg were cancelled too.
The head of weather forecasts center of the State Hydrometeorological Service, Ghenadie Rosca, said that the fog will continue all day, especially on the capital.
According to meteorologists, the weather is warming up in the coming days. At night the air temperature will reach 0 degrees in the north and +10 degrees during the day in the south.
Press officer of the nominated inspectorate Natalia Golovco said that road traffic is carried out in dense fog, the visibility being reduced to 100 meters and the road is wet.
"In order to prevent fog risk situation, INP recommends drivers to exercise increased caution while driving, keep distance and not to exceed,” Golovco said.
The number of patrol inspectors trained in traffic monitoring was increased.
