Moldovan citizens working in Germany to enjoy social benefits

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s citizens working in Germany will enjoy social benefits. An agreement signed between the two countries will enter into force on 1 March 2019, after it has been recently ratified by the German Bundestag.
The document stipulates the conditions of establishing the age limit pension, disability pension, survivor pension, as well as of the disability pension and allowance triggered by labour accidents in both states.
Under the agreement, when reaching the retirement age, the people who acted illegally and paid social contributions on the territory of Germany will benefit from pension, which is to be transferred on a bank account opened in Moldova. Analogous social security measures are stipulated also for people with permanent residence in Germany, who worked legally in Moldova.
According to the National Social Insurances House (CNAS), each signatory country will pay the part of pension calculated for the length of pensionable service carried out on its territory.
At present, CNAS enforces 11 agreements in the social security sector with Bulgaria, Portugal, Romania, Luxembourg, Austria, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania. In 2017, an agreement with Turkey was signed, which will enter into force after the completion of the process of the document’s ratification by both sides.
Presently, more than 530 Moldovan citizens with residence in other contracting states benefit from pensions established and transferred on the territory of the other contracting state.
