Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/- The decision to control the constitutionality of some provisions of Law No1585 of 27 February 1998 on compulsory health insurance and Regulation on granting/suspending the status of insured person in the compulsory health insurance system will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 1 February.

The Court noted that the progress of gender equality is today a major goal among Council of Europe member states and only very strong reasons can justify gender-specific treatment.

The ruling was delivered after the court considered a complaint by several MPs, who noted discriminatory treatment between mothers and fathers caring for four or more children.

The court’s decision is final, cannot be subject to any appeal, it entered into force upon adoption and will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 1 February.
