Moldova-Romania Business Forum held in Chisinau

Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/- More than 100 businessmen from Moldova and Romania met today at a forum held in Chisinau.
The chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova (CCI), Sergiu Harea, said that Romania is the most important trading partner of Moldova. According to statistics, the trade volume between the two countries increased by 27.7% in the 11 months of last year and reached 1.5 billion dollars, except for data from the districts on the left bank of the Dniestre River.
Attending the event, Romanian Ambassador to Chisinau Daniel Ionita said that in 2018 historical figures were recorded in the trade relationship between Romania and Moldova, the bilateral trade reaching 2 billion dollars, according to the data by Romania. According to Ionita, Moldova is the third non-EU market for selling Romanian products, after Turkey and the USA, ahead of top markets such as Serbia, Ukraine or the Russian Federation.
However, the ambassador noted that in our country there are over 1,700 companies with full or part Romanian capital, and in Romania there are 5,600 joint ventures with Moldovan capital. The official said that Romania is and will be an important advocate of the European path of the Republic of Moldova and urged the authorities in Chisinau to continue the reforms.
The Moldova-Romania Business Forum took place within the Made in Moldova exhibition, which was inaugurated yesterday at the Moldexpo center in the capital. It will be open until 3 February.
