Moldovan parliament's spring session to start on 4 February

Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament’s spring session will start on 4 February 2019. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu has signed an instruction to this end, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Beginning with the next week, the MPs will resume their activity in the working bodies of the parliament. On 6 February, the parliament’s standing bureau will hold a meeting, which will establish the date of the first plenary meeting of the spring session.
Under the parliament’s regulation, the legislative body has two ordinary sessions per year. The spring session starts in February and cannot exceed the end of July and the autumn session begins in September and cannot exceed the end of December.
The mandate of the parliament of the 20th legislative period expired on 30 November 2018. According to the Constitution’s provisions, the mandate of the parliament is extended till the first plenary meeting of the newly elected parliament. On the same period, the parliament can adopt ordinary laws, decisions, etc., can organize hearings, consultations and carry out parliamentary control.
