Repair of roads included in Good Roads for Moldova programme to start in next March

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - The works of repair of the road segments included in the Good Roads for Moldova programme will start in next March. The deputy leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM), Vladimir Cebotari, made statements to this effect today.   

„We have commitment to repair 2,600 km of roads and this means that we should not start the work in May, just as we did last year, but earlier. We set to begin this as early as starting from next March. Our colleagues are on the Chisinau-Leuseni road. At least 30 per cent of the road has been already stopped and the entire road up to Chisinau is to be stopped in several days,” Cebotari noted.  

The PDM deputy leader also said that the roads repaired last year, on which holes appeared after the melting of snow, would be repaired at the expense of entrepreneurs. “Entrepreneurs gave guarantees and these roads are to be in a good state even after the winter. We identified a single road segment on which holes appeared. This segment was repaired the last and this road, unfortunately, is not good, because of the climate conditions which followed. Yet, colleagues from the State Administration of Roads have the commitment to repair this road segment at the expense of entrepreneurs,” Cebotari said.    

This year, 2,600 km of road from all over Moldova are to be repaired. In November 2018, the process of collecting proposals on the road segments due to be included in the programme was launched.
