Nice, warm weather expected in Moldova in early February

Chisinau, 01 February /MOLDPRES/ – The mist will maintain throughout Friday, 01 February, but on 02 February, on the territory of Moldova, it will be a nice weather, with positive temperatures during the day, the State Hydrometeorological Service’s (SHS) information and media communication service has reported.

According to meteorologists, on 02 – 05 February, the temperatures in the whole country are set up to 10°C – 12°C, during the day, and 03°C – 05°C at night. Starting Wednesday, 06 February, the thermometre signs will descend a few degrees, the coldest being in the north of Moldova, where the nocturnal thermal values ​​will be below 0. In the reference period, there are not expected precipitations, with exception of the southern area, where there can be noticed occasional snow and sleet by the following weekend.

In February, according to multiannual average data, it starts mild increase in air temperature, and compared to January it is higher by 01°C – 1.5ºC. In February, the average monthly air temperature varies between –01°C in the south and – 03°C in the northern region of Moldova. The coldest was February 1999 for the whole observation period, when the average monthly air temperature oscillated between –12.2ºC and –13.7ºC. The warmest was February 2002 and 2016 – then the average monthly air temperature varied between +3.5°C and +5.5°C.
