Over 1.2 billion lei collected by Customs Service

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/- Over 1.2 billion lei have been collected by the Customs Service earlier this year.
The Head of the public relations department of the Customs Service, Cristina Rau, said that the revenues collected by the Customs Service to the state budget in January amount to about 1 billion 235 mln lei, exceeding the control figure by over 8.7 million lei. The number of customs declarations made during this period amounts to 35,552.
205 violations of customs legislation were found in January. Most common violations refer to exceeding the time limit of stay in Moldova of cars with foreign registration plates, violation of terms of transit or customs declaration deadlines. At the same time, fines were imposed over the period of over 992,856 lei.
During the same period, the flow of transport units was 292,086 crossings and the most transited customs posts remain Leuşeni and Sculeni.
