Draft on child benefit to be voted in first reading this week

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/- The draft on establishment of the monthly child allowance will be voted in Parliament's first reading this week. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made the statement during a visit to Floresti.

According to Candu, the drafts on 600 lei aid of Easter for retired people, on increase in one-off allowance for childbirth up to 10,000 lei will be voted in the first reading. Also, over 150,000 families, who have a monthly income of up to 2,000 lei, will get more aid for the cold season, worth 700 lei.

"Families with three children, like mine, for example, will receive 600 lei until they reach the age of 18. For us it was a challenge to make order in state finances and to find money to raise salaries and support for children,” he said.

MPs resumed working in parliament today. On 6 February, a meeting of the parliament standing bureau will be held, which will set the date of the first plenary meeting of the spring session.

The parliamentary term of the 20th legislature expired on 30 November 2018. According to the provisions of the Constitution, the mandate of the parliament is prolonged until the legal meeting of the new constitution.
