Cancer physicians to provide consultations to residents of Moldova's settlements in February

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 35 cancer physicians will provide consultations to residents from rural settlements in February.   

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, the physicians will join multidisciplinary teams of a campaign titled, A Doctor for You, initiated by Moldova’s government.  

The action is part of the activities planned within the national campaign on raising residents’ awareness about oncological diseases, their combating and treatment, dedicated to the World Cancer Day. Thus, on 4 February – 1 March, cancer physicians (breast physicians, pulmonologists, gynecologists , urologists, proctologists) will move with the multidisciplinary team to Moldova’s districts, according to the following schedule: on 4-8 February, to Edinet, Briceni, Donduseni, Ocnita, Floresti, Drochia, on 11-15 February – to Calarasi, Nisporeni, Rezina, Telenesti, Soldanesti, Glodeni, Sangerei, Falesti, Rascani.        

On 18-22 February – the cancer physicians will give consultations in Cimislia, Leova, Basarabeasca, Anenii Noi, Stefan Voda, Straseni, Criuleni, Dubasari and on 5- February – 1 March, they will go to Cantemir, Vulcanesti and Taraclia.     

Also, during the cancer prevention campaign, held in February, methodical assistance will be provided to physicians from districts, roundtables will be held, interactive discussions will be conducted with citizens and sessions of informing residents about the risks of falling sick with cancer, prevention, early diagnosing and treatment of cancer.  

The World Cancer Day is marked on 4 February.
