Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/ - The ENEMO (European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations) International Election Observation Mission today presented the first monitoring report for the parliamentary polls due on 24 February.

Head of the Mission Dritan Taulla stressed that the conduct of the bodies for the elections’ management during the electoral period in Moldova can be described as professional and transparent. He noted that the sessions of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) were open for media and observers, just as for the public through streaming online.

Also, the expert showed content with the latest changes made to the process of collecting signatures, which, according to him, led to the removing of useless bureaucratic procedures.

The mission’s management condemned all attacks against electoral contenders and candidates, as well as any attempt to hinder the relevant interested electoral and non-electoral sides to organize, participate, monitor or report on the electoral process.

The ENEMO International Election Observation Mission, at an invitation by the Central Electoral Commission, detached a mission for the observation of the parliamentary elections, due on 24 February. The mission is made up of the basic team, which includes eight international experts and ten long-term observers.

The European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations is made up of 21 non-profit organizations, independent and non-governmental, from 17 countries of the Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, including two European Union states, and was founded in 2001.
