Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldsilva forestry agency of Moldova will boost the supervision and protection of the forest and hunting fund in forest enterprises, nature and scientific reserves subordinated to the state.
Under an order signed by the institution’s management, which entered into force this month, the guard will be fostered in the woods of the national forest fund, as well as other measures will be taken to counteract illicit actions.
At the same time, permanent raids and patrols will be organized, in order to discover people who caused damages to the forest and hunting fund or intend to do this. For this, joint mobile groups will be set up, coordinated by agency’s employees, local authorities, Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and Interior Ministry.
Moldsilva sharpens the guard measures in forests, after a serious case of poaching has been recently discovered in the central Straseni district, on the territory of the Codrii scientific reserve. Five killed deer were found nearby the Lozova village, Straseni district, on 29 January.
Three of the animals were young females and, according to silviculturists, this fact worsens the case even more. “These were females which were to develop their reproduction functions, bringing offspring and enriching the local fauna,” sources of the Moldsilva agency said.
The Moldsilva agency made an appeal to citizens to call the hotline (022) 211 311, if irregularities are noticed in the forest fund.
