Ferry sank into Dniester river

Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/- A ferry sank a few days ago in the Dniester near Tiraspol. The floating transport evacuation works started today, after which the ferry is to be repaired.

According to a press release, it went to the Dniester’s bottom."As a result of the impact, the ferry made a crack for which reason it sank," director of the company said.

At the same time, the quoted source cannot say when the damaged ferry will start operating, and the drivers will have to find other ways of crossing the Dniester. An alternative would be the pedestrian bridge crossing with special permits, and the other - way by Bender.
