Moldovan MPs to hold first plenary meeting of spring session

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/- MPs will hold first plenary meeting of spring session on 7 February. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made the statement today.
The meeting will start at 11:00, and many social issues will be included in the agenda.
"The session officially started on Monday, 4 February, and this week the first and most likely last meeting of this session will be held, given that we are in full electoral campaign,” he said.
According to the parliament’s Regulation, the legislature convenes in two ordinary sessions a year. The spring session begins in February and cannot go beyond the end of July. The autumn session starts in September and cannot be more than the end of December.
The parliamentary term of the 20th legislature expired on 30 November 2018. According to the Constitution, the mandate of the parliament is prolonged until the legal meeting of the new composition. During this period, parliament may adopt ordinary laws, decisions, may hold hearings, consultations and perform parliamentary control.
