Chisinau-based park to be modernized

Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Alunelul Park from the Buiucani district of Moldova’s capital will be modernized this year. The project sketch and the permissive acts will be processed and approved on the next period and the works are to start in April 2019.

The decision was taken at a request by citizens. The project on modernization provides for the reconstruction and extension of pedestrian streets, renovation of the public and decorative illumination, arrangement of green areas, rehabilitation of the open-air stage, as well as construction of a stadium for mini-football. Also, a solar tree will be set in the park, the urban furniture will be changed and lanes for bicyclists will be created.   

The Chisinau acting general mayor, Ruslan Codreanu, today chaired a working meeting on the spot, with the participation of specialized municipal services, in order to establish the programme of intervention and the term of carrying out the works. According to Codreanu, the reconstruction of the park is a priority for the Buiucani district.

The Chisinau deputy mayor, Nistor Grozavu, said that the project on the park’s modernization was to be approved by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, given that the zone is of national importance. In parallel, the competent subdivisions will make the dendrologic expertise and will carry out intervention works at the engineering networks, as well as of preparing the ground for the future reconstruction.      

The Alunelul Park has an area of 6.72 hectares and was built in the 1960s. The Chisinau city hall envisaged five million lei for the arrangement of leisure areas for 2019.
