USA backs Moldova in process of country's sustainable development

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and American congressman Brian Mast (R-FL) – member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the U.S. House of Representatives, have discussed aspects of the Moldova-United States cooperation in various sectors, implementation of reforms on Moldova’s modernization, as well as issues of national and regional security.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service, the officials reviewed the present stage of the strategic dialogue between Moldova and the United states, tackled priorities of the bilateral cooperation in different fields, including the carrying out of reforms for the country’s modernization, initiated by the Moldovan authorities.
Tudor Ulianovschi and Brian Mast also referred to the principal challenges to the national security faced by Moldova, proceeding from the latest developments in the Transnistria-related problems and the geopolitical situation in the region. The American congressman reiterated the support of the USA both for the process of Moldova’s sustainable development and for the one of Transnistrian conflict settlement, as well as for the process of unconditional withdrawal of the foreign troops from the territory of Moldova.
In the end, the sides agreed on continuing developing the bilateral cooperation, including through the platform provided by the political support group for Moldova of the U.S. House of Representatives.
