Over 43,000 people consulted free of charge for half a year

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/- 43,000 people were consulted free of charge for half a year during the campaign -A Doctor for You, launched at the initiative of Prime Minister Pavel Filip, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

"Health is a priority for us and I am glad that this campaign has taken shape. This gives us the opportunity to save more lives," he said.

Mixed teams of specialists, made up of endocrinologists, ophthalmologists, neurologists and cardiologists, went to the country's districts and examined over 10,000 people. This year, the medical team is expanding with 35 oncology specialist who will examine patients in order to prevent oncological diseases and inform society about the risk groups and the treatments.

At the same time, over 5,000 women have already performed breast screening free of charge, a service launched in the second round of the campaign. Also, over 22,000 people have been screened by lung radiography, and about 5,500 children have been consulted by dentists.

The campaign was launched on 2 August 2018. It continues in 2019 - free examination of the villagers is carried out according to the schedule.
