Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/ - The State Fiscal Service (SFS) in 2018 carried out about 1,900 controls in the field of providing taxi services. As a result, fiscal sanctions worth over three million lei were imposed. The SFS deputy director, Igor Turcanu, has made statements to this effect in an interview given exclusively to MOLDPRES.
At the same time, another 1,000 controls were carried out at companies working in the HORECA sector. “We cannot say that we have too many or quite a few controls. They were held taking into account the scourge of fiscal evasion,” Turcanu said.
The deputy director of the State Fiscal Service also said that, starting from 1 October 2018, the taxi companies and the ones from the HORECA field had been benefiting from certain fiscal facilities. At the same time, a single 12-per cent quota of income tax was established.
According to Turcanu, the cuts in quotas of income tax stimulate the providing of official salaries. At the same time, the official denied information according to which this action would reduce the revenues from local budgets.
Igor Turcanu added that, in the last year, SFS had carried out more actions to raise citizens’ awareness that it is fairer for one to independently declare his/her incomes than to be applied constraint measures. At the same time, the institution is set to provide, in the long run too, an efficient fiscal administration, to enhance the level of employees’ professionalism, to apply a correct treatment towards all tax payers and continue the programme on their compliance.
