Group of experts monitor Southern Gate of Moldova project

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/ - The project, Southern Gate of Moldova opened for promoting business and investments, today was considered in the southern Cimislia town at a meeting with foreign experts. They monitor the concerned project, carried out in Moldova within a European Union’s initiative, Mayors for Economic Growth.
The goal of the monitoring is to identify the advantages and benefits of the project, first of all, for the local authorities and partners involved, establish the points of improvement for a possible extension of this project.
The participants in the meeting noted that, within the project, the needed equipment had been already bought and the arrangement of another four rooms was almost completed at the business incubators from Cimislia, Leova, Cahul and Stefan Voda. Also, the arrangement of four information bureaus was to be carried through for entrepreneurs from the districts of Basarabeasca, Cantemir, Causeni and Taraclia. “At the same time, reference information was collected from the district councils of the South Development Region; as a result, 80 investment offers were elaborated, which will stay at the basis of the investment Register and Portal of the region,” sources from the South Development Agency (ADR Sud) have informed.
According to ADR Sud, on the next period, more public events will be organized to present the investment profiles from those eight districts of the South Region, with trainings, consultancy services and expertise for entrepreneurs from the zone.
The Southern Gate of Moldova project was launched last summer and is set to contribute to the development of a competitive business environment in the South Region, by strengthening the capacities of the providers of services of support in business, as well as to enhancing the demand of consultancy on behalf of small and medium enterprises. The project’s target is to increase the institutional capacity in the promotion of investments in the region.
Southern Gate of Moldova opened for promoting business and investments is financed by the European Union within the initiative, Mayors for Economic Growth and is implemented by the Cimislia district council, in partnership with the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development and ADR Sud.
