Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/- At the beginning of the current agricultural season, about 36 thousand tons of seeds are stored for spring sowing, which is more than 14% of the required quantity, the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) reports.
According to ANSA, of this quantity, 24.5 thousand tons, or about 69% of the stored seed, were controlled and certified.
"Currently, the agency specialists control the conditions for storing, preserving and ventilating seeds for spring sowing. The necessary samples are taken and the seed testing and certification is carried out in the specialized laboratories. Particular attention is paid to peasant households, for supplying them with verified, quality seeds.”

More than 170 agricultural stores operate in Moldova, providing agricultural producers in the country with a variety of seed materials.
