More children from Chisinau municipality put in hospital with food intoxication

Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/ - Ten children with ages between 7 and 15 years from the Tohatin village, Chisinau municipality, have been hospitalized with food intoxication. Two of them are in the intensive therapy section of the Municipal Hospital of Contagious Diseases for Children.
According to the Chisinau city hall, the minors asked for medical assistance on 5 March. Initially, 12 pupils were put in hospital; yet, two of them refused hospitalization. The pupils study at the Gymnasium No 74 from the Tohatin village.
The case is investigated by the Social Assistance and Health Department and the Public Health Agency from Chisinau. The reason for the intoxication will be established by the laboratory analysis during five days. Meanwhile, the city hall instructed to suspend the work of the public nourishment enterprise which supplies food including to the pupils of the Gymnasium No 74.
The acting general mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, visited the children at the hospital today. Decision-makers of the medical institutions gave assurances to Codreanu that the pupils were supervised by specialists and would benefit from the needed treatment.
