Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/- Judges of the Constitutional Court will most likely validate the 24 February parliamentary elections. Former President of the Constitutional Court Alexandru Tanase made the statement in an interview exclusively for MOLDPRES.
The Constitutional Court has a rather limited instrument when it comes to recognizing the legality of election. "The CCM does not establish facts but is based on the rulings provided by ordinary courts. The Court's task is to decide whether the violations found by the ordinary courts are likely to influence election results or not,” he said.
Tanase said he sees no prerequisites that would lead to a possible invalidation of parliamentary elections. "I understand that in some districts there are pending cases. The JCC will cumulate court rulings and determine whether these elections are legal or not, "Tanase concluded.
