Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/- No matter how heterogeneous the parliamentary groups are and how fierce the political competition is, after validation of mandates, the MPs are serving the people and because they are paid out of public funds, they should make every effort to find a compromise and create a parliamentary majority. Former President of the Constitutional Court Alexandru Tanase made the statement in an exclusive interview for MOLDPRES.
According to Tanase, the Constitution cannot encourage political instability, and clear deadlines are set for setting up a parliamentary majority and convening the legislature. "Within 30 days, the parliament standing bureau must summon and form factions, but all these are technical details that can only occur after a majority. Political parties must generate a majority and set up a government, otherwise within three months of the first legislature meeting, the head of state will be obliged to dissolve the parliament,” he said.
He added that the outcome of the 24 February elections is a mirror of society, and new ballot would not bring about a significant change in the results.
